A Wastewater Management Solution Provider (and more).

AKYAS — Simple, Adaptable, Universal.

Simplicity and versatility to tackle wastewater management.

AKYAS simplifies wastewater management in 2 smart ways.

  • When waste streams from sanitation systems are mixed, it creates complex and expensive management. We cut complexity at the source by separating liquids from solids.

  • The myriads of non-standardized sanitation systems used across households and industries result in costly and often unreliable service chain. Our innovations are universal plug-ins —without replacing entire existing systems — and instantly elevate the onsite (waste-)water quality

AKYAS Impact Duo: Smart & Simple

AKYAS Impact Duo

The AKYAS Impact Duo includes the EDU and the NET Box. Each one comes with powerful technical features for the wastewater (& water) sector.

Together, they are even more powerful.

  • EDU = Effluent Diversion Unit. It separates liquids from solids to simply subsequent management.

  • NET = Nano-bubble Effluent Treatment. It produces super tiny bubbles to kill pathogens and break down masses.

More about our
Technologies.

  • Proven. Scalable. Resilient.

We offer flexible sanitation and water solution models, proven in multiple countries, designed to remain functional during climate shocks and scalable across diverse settings. Our approach combines accessible tech, adaptive planning, and inclusive delivery.

  • Local Fit. Global Impact

We’ve localized waste-stream separation to fit existing supply and service chains — co-created with water and sanitation experts and validated for both solution fit and market relevance — for instance, in our initiative in Bangladesh.

  • Beyond Innovations - We Deliver Real Change

We're more than Innovations — we deliver results. From problem identification to systemic, lasting impact creation, our agile approach — grounded in continuous learning and local adaptation — has made us a trusted partner in the water and wastewater sector.

The Broader Challenges Tackled

  • The Global Infrastructure Challenge

The global wastewater sector is rapidly evolving toward decentralized and sustainable solutions, driven by increased urbanization, climate change challenges, aging infrastructure and regulatory demands for environmental stewardship.

At AKYAS, we align with this vision by developing modular, scalable wastewater systems that integrate seamlessly into urban and rural infrastructure.

  • Half of the world's population is not connected to sewer network.

A typical fecal sludge management (FSM) process involves five key steps:

    Containment → 2. Emptying → 3. Transportation → 4. Treatment → 5. Disposal/Reuse

At AKYAS, our technical approach simplifies this conventional FSM value chain.

We begin by tackling a core challenge at Step 1: Containment—the separation of liquids from fecal solids, particularly among populations using water for anal cleansing (“washers”) and wet toilet systems, including flush toilets. By reducing the liquid content in the fecal matter at the source, we unlock multiple downstream benefits across the entire chain.

In short: we make both on-site and off-site FSM significantly easier, more efficient, and more scalable.

  • Our Goal

Our goal is to be the shift from traditional centralized infrastructure to flexible, versatile options that reduce environmental footprints, and address the different contextual needs.

Through innovation and collaboration, AKYAS is shaping the future of wastewater management, creating environmentally conscious solutions that are both accessible and sustainable.
